Fantastic service & the steaks are the best I've ever had, grilled to perfection & so tender that it melted in my mouth. I loved the throw back feel of the restaurant. Great neighborhood diner. Will return before leaving Clear Lake just to have another great Iowa beef steak.

Home style dinning, including authentic hand patted burgers made to perfection. Even if your not one of the regulars you are treated like a neighbor.

Great food! Worth the wait as service is slow - at least the night we were there. A local type favorite. Happy to have been referred to it.

Our Steaks were cooked perfectly! Even for a busy night with a wait for seating the food came in a very timely fashion! Great service!

When in Clear Lake we always have to stop to enjoy a delicious dinner or lunch at the Half Moon! Great salads, cheese balls, steaks, fish and sandwiches!

Wait staff was very pleasant, quick. The food was delicious. We had the queen prime rib done to perfection with a great flavor. No need for any extra sauce to dip. Love the little loaf of bread too. Only problem I can see was leaving positively stuffed, because you didn't want to leave anything. This was our first time at the half moon. Will be stopping again.

Totally a Clear Lake institution. I absolutely love their food! No matter what you get it's gonna be good! And they also have the best ranch in the whole world.. I think it's the type of mayonnaise they use but it definitely puts just regular Hidden Valley to shame.

Overall pretty good food and service

Have to say just OK. Service was slow this evening. Nothing special lobster chewy. Ribeye steak not sizzling as I would have expected. Second time eating there would I go back.? Yes, I will give it another try.

We checked this place out online and read good reviews so decided to try it. Don't judge it by the outside (nothing to see) or even by the decor inside (looks like an old supper club). Judge it by the fantastic and friendly service you will receive, and the delicious food you will eat! We had the barbequed ribs, which were so tender you could pull them off the bone easily with your fork, and the filet, which was perfectly done and absolutely melted in my mouth. Our server was very friendly, and was there when we needed her or asked for her, but not bothersome at all. We will definitely eat here again!

Like a hidden treasure. Drove all the way to Mason City to Northwestern steak house and Half Moon was hands down better. Greek salad was a real Greek salad and our filet mignon was fabulous. The service was fantastic and we will visit again soon. Can not say enough good things about this treasure. My Crown and 7 was made to my liking and I drink them stiff. Sheri was the best and Ali was great to.

Always an excellent meal here! They take such pride in having fresh quality ingredients. The tomato on my burger was juicy and ripe, which doesn’t happen a lot in many restaurants. Great gluten free option with the bread as well.

Small menu however the food was so delicious presentation and taste was on point everything was natural nothing processed straight fresh I would love to come back and if your visiting to Clear Lake Half Moon restaurant needs to be the 1st stop to eat

One of the best steaks I've ever had! They serve it on a plate filled with the steak drippings. Should be against the law to use steak sauce here.

We stopped in as we were passing through on vacation. Really delicious food! Our waitress was so friendly and attentive! Would eat here again next time we're through!

The best steak and prime rib in town! I also love the smothered chicken. Our go-to when looking for a nice family meal.

Stella the bartender was wonderful. The Torsk was also perfect. I miss supper clubs and this hit the spot!
